NET::ERR_CERT_REVOKED
The certificate has been revoked by its issuer
Seen in Chrome, Edge (Firefox: SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE)
The certificate authority has cancelled this certificate before its expiry date, so the browser refuses it.
Common causes
- The owner reissued the certificate and revoked the old one, but a server still serves the old one.
- The private key was reported as compromised, so the CA revoked the certificate.
- The CA revoked it for mis-issuance or a compliance problem, sometimes in bulk.
How to fix it
- Issue a new certificate (with a new private key if the old one may be compromised) and install it.
- Check every server, load balancer and CDN behind the name now serves the new certificate.
- Restart or reload the web server after replacing the files so the old certificate is no longer in memory.
