What's my IP
See your public IP address, your network and approximate location as seen by MtrXTools.
Your public address
This is the address websites see when you connect, assigned by your ISP, mobile network, VPN or company network. MtrXTools shows your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses separately, because most connections now have both and a site may see either.
The network name and location come from the address itself. On a VPN or corporate proxy you see the VPN's or company's exit point, not your own location.
Questions
- Why does my IP keep changing?
- Most home and mobile connections get a dynamic address that changes when the router restarts or the lease expires. Mobile networks often share one address among many users (CGNAT).
- Why is there no IPv6 address?
- Your ISP or network doesn't offer IPv6, or your router has it turned off.
- Is my IP address private information?
- It is visible to every site you visit, and it reveals your provider and rough location but not your identity or street address. A VPN replaces it with the VPN's address.
