NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
The certificate isn't issued by a trusted authority
Seen in Chrome, Edge, Brave
The browser can't build a chain from the site's certificate to a root it trusts.
Common causes
- The certificate is self-signed or from a private CA.
- The server sends only the leaf certificate and leaves out the intermediate.
- A network device or antivirus is intercepting HTTPS with its own certificate.
How to fix it
- Use a certificate from a public CA (Let's Encrypt is free).
- Configure the server with the full chain file (leaf + intermediates).
- If it happens on one network only, check for a proxy doing TLS inspection.
