Cloud IP owner
Check IP addresses or hostnames against the official published ranges of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Microsoft 365, Cloudflare, Fastly, GitHub, Oracle, DigitalOcean and Linode, and verify Googlebot and Bingbot, with the service and region each range belongs to.
Official ranges, not guesses
Cloud providers publish the IP ranges they use. MtrXTools downloads those lists directly from each provider and checks your addresses against them, showing the provider, the most specific matching range, and the service and region where the list includes them.
Check up to 20 IPs or hostnames at once, for example the senders in a DMARC report or the addresses in a firewall log.
Verifying search engine crawlers
Anyone can claim to be Googlebot in a user agent. Google and Bing publish their crawler ranges, so an address that isn't in them isn't the real crawler and can be safely blocked or rate-limited.
Questions
- Why does an Azure address mention GitHub?
- GitHub publishes the Azure ranges its hosted Actions runners and Codespaces may use, which cover much of Azure. MtrXTools reports the address as Azure and notes the GitHub list; it doesn't mean GitHub uses that address.
- An address isn't in any list. What now?
- It probably belongs to an ISP or a smaller host. IP info shows the network and ASN for any address.
- How current are the ranges?
- Each provider's list is downloaded directly and refreshed every 12 hours. If a provider's list can't be loaded, the result says so, so a "no match" isn't overstated.
