Connection timed out
Seen in Node.js, Python (TimeoutError)
No reply at all within the time limit, which usually means packets are being dropped.
Common causes
- A firewall or security group silently drops the traffic.
- The host is down or the IP is wrong.
- Routing problems between you and the host.
How to fix it
- Check firewall and cloud security-group rules for the port.
- Verify the address in DNS is current.
- Compare from another network.
